Idle issues

So upon starting the car up cold I have issues with idle. It seems to hold at around 1-1.5k then after a little bit of driving and the engine getting warm, it settles back down.

It recently went into Renault with the only fault code showing was the upstream lambda. I've yet to change this but do you think it would have an effect of the idle revs?

Hmm maybe it's more than 1-1.5k but it is defo idling too high on start up. I will have to double check on next start up.

Isn't that pretty much the norm for Clios. Every RS I've owned has pretty much done this.

Is it? I mean it does it for a good 5 minutes of driving or more?

Engine won't even be warm in 5 mins, so it sounds about right

Ok I will get a video. It might well be normal but at least it puts my mind at rest.

Sounds normal to me too. I'm guessing it's more noticeable the colder it is outside?

Mine used to do this mate intil i mapped with rs tuner . Probally cus its cold.

Yea I popped out to grab a video and came to the conclusion I was worrying about nothing.

Keep an eye on it mate but i'm sure it's nothing to worry about, quite common for a lot of cars to have a higher idle when cold, Clio's seem to make it seem worse than it really is due to all the noise/ralttles lol

My 197 does it, my old starlet gt did it as well. .. pretty much every car I've owned has done it

My concern was because this car hadn't done it prior. But now it does.

More noticeable when it is cold outside as the ambient temperature means the engine takes longer to heat up.

I wouldn't say its more noticeable when cold outside. I started it this afternoon and it was the same.

As long as idle is less than 1500 (I think) then it will pass the MOT

Mine sits about 1.5 then settles around 1 when warm
