Idle speed ..

Hello... Picked up my 172 today .. and still smiling /big

Sorry to all thise that say these things rattle /spit .. it feels solid as a rock.

Some little and common issues as its on 56k , like a slight exhaust knock in 1st

However I notice the idle speed sits around 600 - 700 rpm. Does this seem high ..

Mine idles at around 8-900 from memory, that seems low!

sorry I meant to say low .. I think a good tune up is in order then.

Looks like I'll be visiting Power engineering for the 1st time in 10 years.

I think my dads 172 idles at about 500-600. Most have a lumpy idle too.

Idle should be 800rpm +/- 50 .

yeah mine felt lumpy before remap, it was just under 750 rpm. Remap has got it at 950rpm which seems perfect

when cold mine sits about 1000 then it warms up and idles around 700, that normal?
