If someone told you..

id believe them. As the 1.2 TCE manages to pull away in 5th, I think the 200 would do it in 6th.

Fair enough I wouldn't have believed it for a second tbh, but I was juggling cars on the drive forgot I wasn't in my escort so had it in 6th rather than reverse. I let the clutch up with no revs and the thing just pulled away. I don't know what I was more confused about, the fact I was moving in the wrong direction or the fact the car hadn't stalled.

i'd say BS but i've never tried. In fact i'd say BS to 4th gear let alone 6th, and i'd call BS on most cars not just a 200.

Once the clutch was up you'd be doing about 15mph at tickover, pretty quick for on a driveway unless you live in a very big house, lol

Not surprised it would pull away though, its got an electronic throttle which means that the ecu can give the engine full throttle effectively to stop it stalling.

Yea the rents place is very nice there are 6 cars on the drive at the mo as they rent out 3 properties as holiday lets. In contrast my two bed flat isnt quite as luxurious lol.

Electronic throttle goes along way to explaining why it pulled away with seemingly little fuss, pretty sure my 182 used to stall trying to get it off the line in 4th.

Hmm, my old 1.5 Clio used to pull away no problem in every gear... Never tried to pull away in higher gears in the 197, apart from in second on a slight hill. Can't imagine it going well though lol

I don't think jiggling cars on the drive counts as pulling away. It moved, but have you tried it at a junction?

I'd be very surprised if it could actually pull away and make progress, especially with no throttle.

I'd expect it to move though. We're you facing downhill? That would help a great deal.

Yep. It'll compensate up to a point, so it could be done.

I'd imagine it would stall as soon as you tried to pull away though.
