If u had £150 on wax...

  Clio 172 phase 1
Okay so looking for a new wax and love to hear people's opinions on what they like and would buy etc as I like to compare and see if every one agrees on one or two.... Okay so here's the score looking to spend £150 not much more on a nice wax I want an immense wet deep finish but also respectable durability I seem to find that the two don't happen together ...... ATM I have swissvax best of shoe but it's not the best for the money what do people think of the auto finesse desire and illusion? What would you buy .....

My money would be going on swissvax shield. I'd say it has 80% looks of BOS but much better durability.

Imo illusion ion is a brilliant summer wax but jut doesn't feel special, if I was going for a wax around the price of illusion it would be zymol carbon all day long.

I don't think you'll be able top best of shoe... Jus' sayin'

Id be spending less on a wax and more on prep tbh

make sure the paint is immaculate for the wax to bond(right word?) better to, and then a ph neutral shampoo to maintain. AF illusion is great, but I fear I may have killed the life a bit by using a s**t (ag) shampoo

I took it as an assumption that he already had the prep right if he's already got BOS and considering another wax up to £150.

I'll say it again though swissvax shielf, boutique feel and looks with a 6-8 month durability.. What more could you want?

First came to mind was SV Shield and Zymol concours, concours being my ultimate choice if money was no object but a fraction over your budget at £170.

I thought illusion was lovely in every way bar durability. Desire giving a good amount of the same qualities but with 6 months durability.

My prep is good but thanks for the advice as I know a lot if people won't prep and cause poor durability I use the swissvax cleaner fluid as James at ti22 reccomend it to give all swissvax the best durability.... I'm partial to try the zymol and carbon and concourse are 2 I'm really interested in but have no experience with zymol products other than their shampoo witch is fantastic the swissvax shield seems to get good ratings aswell what sort of durability do you guys get out of each wax? And would you argue that the one provides more gloss than the other??

If zymol gets the vote I really don't mind holding out another 2weeks getting a pot of concourse .... Also I do apologise for poor grammar I sit Infront of a computer all day and my eyes are hanging out my head

Think I'm going to go with the swissvax shield as I really like the idea of the Teflon coat in it as we all know what the weathers like here and with a nice clean and buff first I think it'll be good :) the zymol carbon looks a great wax but it's in the Same price range as the dodo juice etc it's probably head and shoulders above all the other waxes in the price range but I'm gonna give shield a shout for now and mabye then nearer the summer months fork or for some
concourse :) thanks for all the info it's been really helpful and for once nice to see a good thread on topic :)

Shield. You can't buy an AF wax after owning BOS ffs!

You'll be impressed with Shield. If you don't want something similar you'll have to go Zymol.

"Immense deep wet finish" - that screams "glaze" to me, not Cleaner Fluid.

What's more important; longevity or looks, because if it's looks, I'd be using AF Tripple/another decent AIO topped with a cheaper wax.

Concours feels much more special but the fact Glasur was cheaper and performed better (with a higher caranuba content also) for me made it hard to justify.

performed better in what way?

I was a little underwhelmed with Glasur of what I remember of it which is why I've picked up another sample pot to see if it were just me.

Lasted longer ime. Concours felt more like a show wax.

I struggled to see much difference in durability between carbon, titanium, glasur and concourse over HD Cleanse base. water behaviour varied a little.

I thought it was more in feeland use, and the glossy finish for me
