Ignition Problem

I recently had a new alarm fitted and it kept going out os sync arming itself but not locking doors but i can fix that by starting it up again then its back on track (it will be fixed if it persists) but 2day i went to restartto put it back in sync and it woudnt start !

I rang alarm people who ran me through some steps and they said because the red light on my dash (renault fitted emobiliser) light up all the time when ignition is on it ment it was the imobilser not reading the key correctly

So i paniced as u do but it then started to work again after abut 30 mins has anyone else had this prob and is it likely to catch me out when iam miles from nowere ?

its a 03 172 with a factory fitted imobiliser and an after market alarm ive only had it a week !!!!

They say it is the renault fitted imobiliser that is at fault because when i turn ignition on (but not start it) the big red light on dash stays on that means its the key not being recognised (so they said)

Is the alarm intigrated with the imobaliser? ie if you switch one on or off it switches the other on or off?

sorry lost me !

i dont know but he might have a point if the red light on my dash the one in between the clocks stays on that porbably does indicate a problem but i c what u r getting at does the alarm create that problem with the standard imobiliser. i just wondered if anybody else had had the same trouble and if not i guess it is the alarm if so they might be able to explain what it was.
