IllumiRoom...

I saw that earlier and wondered how it worked. It must involve a secondary display source i.e. a projector and then they have mapped the back wall of the living room.

This is done in a similar way:


How it will work in the real world i don't know.

^ That's similar (projection mapping) but that that will have been produced and set-up well in advance of the event.

IllumiRoom seems to do it in real-time but using a simple, static image.
 
It uses kinect to map the room, but the issue is the projector, who's going to want to mount a projector somewhere, it'll have to be at the back of the room
 
Why would it have to be back of the room? Would all depend on size of screen etc...

You could also keep it neat by having a drop down projector in a lift mechanism ;)
 
Looks good, but if you have to buy a projector I'd rather just have a massive wall and play full screen on it.
