I'm pretty sure this shouldn't look like this. Airbox mod.

So, I was wondering why the car doesn't idle very well in traffic (warm air etc) and I wonder if this has anything to do with it or is it something others do on a regular basis? I've only just bought this car and finding some interesting stuff already.

If anyone has an old airbox they dont want i'd be happy to take it off their hands so I can get rid of my seive.

I did think Max Power and Fast Car all at the same time actually. I remember we used to drill the airbox to make more induction noise when we were like 17, 25yrs ago! PMSL.

My phase one 172 when i picked it up i noticed it had the air box covered in holes
on the lid and everything

was like WTF

as mentioned, if anyone has fitted an induction kit and doesn't want their lower air box casing, I wouldn't mind it. Just trying to keep it as standard as possible for now. Don't suppose anyone knows if it's interchangeable with any other clio range airboxes? Please feel free to PM me. Cheers.

People do fit either Espace V6 airboxes or 172 phase 1 airboxes as apparently there is a minor performance gain.

Thanks for that. Are the filters different sizes or interchangeable? It's either that or go for a complete induction kit. Quite like the look of the carbon Pipercorss one on Ktec website.

I honestly wouldn't bother mate. Unless you want it for looks or noise. They really do F'all! lol. Its your car at the end of the day.

Look at the JMS setup. Looks OEM and makes a hell of a noise!

they appear on ebay every so often mate, alternatively order the espace v6 airbox from renault £60 odd quid and it includes a filter

One of the good members has offered me his airbox so hopefully get that sorted for now.
