iMac HHD on the way out?

Iv recently gone Leopard to Snow Leopard after my Imac eventually bogging down....

The installation which normally should take 30-40 minutes tuck about 4.5 hours...

Installing PS took about 3 hours...

Iv repaired permissions on both my drives, my second drive had a fault but once repaired nothing was any better.

Flicking about in finder and safari my computer is dead quick but copying files and installing is near impossible...

Photoshop wont open now, Iv been keeping an eye on activity monitor, cpu and memory usage is nothing out of the ordinary...

Disk usage is reading at below 1mps write speed which seems really low while re-installing PS.

Any recommendations of anything to do before booking in at the genius bar...

Sounds like the HDD is about to die. If i were you i'd back that s**t up ASAP

I backed up pre installing SL Wednesday luckily.

I hate going to the apple store... Be even more hell like with the iPad launch...

What would a HDD normally write at? I just guessed below 1mps was very slow!
