immobiliser.. what does it control

i believe im having problems with my immobiliser

i was wondering which parts of the engine it controls, whats its function?

does it cut fuel from the injectors etc?

Immob will stop the car from starting and cut the fuel pump and coil..what is your immob light doing ?

It's function is to immobilise the car. In the event it gets stolen..

It's most likely you are having problems with the transponder in your key, rather than the immobiliser itself.

Cheers guys, just wanted to know a couple of things to check and see if it was on or off.. The light goes out as normal..
