Implications of unplugging the solenoid from what was the carbon canister?

I've got a Cup engine loom to fit and plan to remove a few unused plugs to tidy things up.

I unplugged the carbon canister solenoid today and left the car idling. There was no EML or any impact on the running.

The EML doesn't bother me as I'll just tape it up. Are there any implications of doing this?

If you put tape over the eml you won't know if there is another fault iirc you can just put a resistor in to stop the light.

Had the EML light due to removing the carbon canister for a couple of months now and I've had no adverse effects on the running of the car.

Thanks Chaps. I've just bought some 23ohm resistors which I'll solder into the loom when I trim out the wiring.
