Imported Cars

Was just wondering if European Imported cars will cost more to insure, and whether there would be difficulties getting parts for it (or does it depend on what car it is?)

Thanx

no, they do not cost more to insure if it is a uk spec and car is also sold here - same comment applies to parts - if it is uk spec no difference

Only difference between a UK 172 and a Euro Import is the UK one has one year more warranty and has a alarm. Apart from that they are identical.

Mine is a euro import 172, and I got 3 yr warranty with mine. all i need is to fit an alarm. I was told they have only just started supplying 3 yr warranty with imports.......

My insurance wasnt bothered that it didnt have an alarm (mines an import) and only wanted an immobiliser.

I put an alarm on for my own peace of mind.

Never seen that before where did you get it from?? Mine only had 2 years.
I got mine from Barkers in Preston. Defo has 3 year, just been reading the warranty documentation. As I say, I think it is something that has only just been introduced bearing in mind I have only had the vehicle a week!

Other difference:

UK car also has window etching/stickers and if its fitted with allys will also have locking wheel nuts.
