Impossible to keep car clean this time of year...

Car  AB182, Audi A5 3.0
Salt, saltm salt and more salt!!! Makes the car look a mess after just 1 journey!!! Anyone else suffering this time of year or is it just in devon where the salt seems to make your window go white but dosnt actually melt the ice?!

Any tips on keeping it off? (special polishes etc)

This time of year is a pain in the a*se for me with mine being my daily driver its dirty a day or two after its been washed :( roll on the spring time eh!

Simple if you've good protection on, I have Gtechniq and FK1000 etc,

All I have needed for 5 weeks is a pressure wash off.

I've had Gtechniq on the glass for over a year and it's still going strong!

Defrosting windows with it applied is a lot easier :approve:

You should try some C2 etc, works a treat, and very easy to apply and upkeep (can be diluted for detailing spray)

Proper Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

Well protected, a decent spray down (expecially in the arches) when you can, simples.

mines going to get a spray down from the pressure washer twice a week from now until the wether clears up abit. ill be doing it at a garage jet wash station so i don't get ice forming on the drive!

I am a chauffeur with a Black Jag and Chrome wheels - its a killer, I am washing 3 times a day!

Very little you can do to keep the car clean in this weather, although a couple of coats a good sealant or wax (I recommend Collinite or Finishkare) would help protect the finish and make it easier to clean when you do.

If you're doing a lot of miles then it's worth giving the arches and bodywork at least a jet wash eash week to get the salt off. A foam lance and PH neutral snow foam make for a pretty decent touchless wash and a 90 degree, under body lance is worth buying. :)

I am from Devon and have the same problem, my car always seems to be dirty er than others even though I wash mine more ! guess the tip is with the salt is to wash it as often as you can ! and dont forget the arches with a pressure washer !
