impressed with a 1.2

  1.5 Clio Dynamique
yes i admit i was.......and still am

went on a 300 mile round trip to blackpool and first of all it went like a treat on the motorway (clear run always had plenty of power should i have had needed to stretch it and overtake something for a change of scenery) and it was fairly quiet

and using 1 tank considering it was loaded up (well 35quids worth)

Yeah, i love my 1.2 Gives me an excuse to slap it in 2nd and rag it!

Pretty nippy for sure. Especially now with my speedlines on. shocked some people!

I loved mine when I had it, kept up well many a time on cliosport meets.

Cheap and cheerful which is what motoring should be.

i loved my 1.2, was content with it, dropped a 1.6 in it, seriously dont know how i put up with the dangerous underpowered drive i used to have

  GW Clio 200

You sure? The one I drove felt like a slower version of my 182. I reckon it would have kept up with my Bean to around 70mph. Very nippy.

Had it had much done muns? My k4m feels pretty flat torque wise, isn't a patch on the 172. Only upside is from a roll on a roundabout-third is more useable due to the shorter gearing.

Once the 1.2's are evenually up to 70/80mph they're actually ok at cruising. Its when you end up down to 50mph and need to pull out to overtake a HGV etc your in trouble or when you need to enter a motorway etc.

I much prefare how in the 172 I don't have to work the car anywhere near as hard to make decent progress. On a B-road I can cover ground at a pretty good rate just leaving it in 4th and enjoying the handling, where as in the 1.2 i'd be having to rag it to the limiter in 2nd and 3rd to attempt the same pace on the straights and in the bends i'd be miles behind.

Fair enough the 1.2 served me well until I could afford the 172, and they can be nice cars don't get me wrong, some very nice ones on this forum tbh.

Small engined cars rule, gives you an excuse to rag them everywhere.

Exactly!

They have a very sound capable chassis on skinny (ish) tyres, and with the puny engine you can drive flat out everywhere and have it moving about while you do it.

Who cares if they're slow when you feel like a hero as you chuck it into the next bend. Fun.

Couldn't agree more with the positive comments, I can drive mine fast enough on a road to satisy me and have fun when its empty out.

Its not the best motorway cruiser, but now i have sport seats, which are a lot more supportive, its a fun little car until i can afford something faster.
