Increase diameter of air intake

Im not sure if this is in the right place or even if the title suits the description so sorry in advance!

Ive seen on a few clios that the air intake (i think its called that!) is larger than standard sized ones. Does anybody have any tips or if it has been discussed before point me in the right direction to read about how to do it please.

Also, are there any gains in performance or is it just an aesthetic mod?

Mine had a 4" air feed and there was no gains at all!

Surely having the intake that low its in danger of getting water in the engine?

Doubt water will go all the way up there tbh. Went back to the original ph1 intakes, only gain was the noise
