Indicating Right knocks plastic out PLEASE HELP

When ever i flip my indicator stalk upwards (turing right) it knocks the plastic surround behind the steering wheel causing it to unclip and a nasty noise...

VERY FRUSTRATING

Have tried re-cliping etc. any ideas?
