Indicator madness

Hi
Im not very well up on electrics, and my indicators are playing up. Whilst they work as I got someone to check today , but when the indicator is turned on the sound is ok but instead of the indicator arrow lighting up it sometimes sets off the door open warning light or sometimes the the rear fog light which flash in time to the indicator. Also sometimes when i brake that lights up the front fog light indicator. Anyone have any thoughts as to where to start looking.

Take off the rear lights and give the connections a good clean.
