Induction Kit for 1.2 8v

  Clio_Smart
Hi Guys

Im thinking about buying an induction kit and was wondering are they worth it ?

I dont want to sound like a boy racer though.

Do some sound smart and give it just a nice sound when pulling off but have a bit of kick when in 5th gear etc.

I hope i have made some sense lol

Thanks :D

There not worth it mate i had a K&N on my car for a while give a nice sound with the backbox and all and you get the feel of a lil more kick at higher revs but save your money for another car

biohzd what car was that on?

ik will 9/10 loose you power as they just suck in hot air but give the feeling that your going faster due to the noise.

unless you go all out and get a closed ik with cold air feed i wouldnt bother,

i, doubt it did much. just take all the internals out of the airbox and put a k'n panel filter in and job done, spend the money on a de-cat.

what modding you done mate? pics???? for best sound and gains id still go for a de-cat, makes the standard zaust pop and bang a little and wont sound chavvy.

How much is a De-Cat ?

Im not clued up on cars but does that mean me having a exhaust showing lol

no, a decat is a section of the exhaust, (look under your car near the drivers seat) replace it with a decat ( same but with no internals) and it give you tiney gains and a nice sound.

just but a 2nd hand cat and smash the internals out, £20 max, go to a scrap yard. may get it for a couple of quid.

mmmmmm

Im not sure what to do ?

Would like a nice sound when pulling off and a little roar when hitting 70 etc if you no what i mean lol

then just get the de-cat and a £20 ik from motor world or argos lol, all open air ik will do the same on a 1.2 so why spend £60+ when you olny need to spend £20, then you can get both.

there is no de-cat on that system the first 'round bit' is a silencer, that is a catback exhaust which doesnt effect the cat at all, it goes on after it..

just buy a cheap filter and tube to fit from halfords and ull save alot of money and still have the noise..

decat on a 1.2 8v is pointless and more hassle than its worth at MOT time..
