Induction kit for 1.4s

Car  Monaco Blue Mk2
2000.

Whats the best one to get and what is the most cost effective one to get? I know there is limited choice for my model so any ideas will be appreciated. Pictures with them fitted would also be great.

Thanks fellas. No it's just for the sound really.

Sounds nice mitch. How much did you pay? Also mitch, does it look easy enough to return to standard when the time comes to sell up, also I guess you loose the look of the square engine cover as the top right part is the air box isn't it? I guess that black pipe is your cold air feed? lol

I might just go to waxacar or quickshift and get them to sort one out for me.

Although I've just found this, should do the trick, seems a bit expensive though?

nahh do it yourself mate!! its a peice of piss.

I think it was about £50/60 cant remember now.

yeah that massive blue thing is your airbox, it seriously takes 5 mins to take it off and fit the k&n, the intructions you get are very good.

The airbox is only held on by 4 bolts iirc, and the k&n has a fitment bracket that you bolt down with 2 of the bolts you took off. then just plop the k&n on to that, job done :)

yes that black pipe is my CAF (cold air feed) it was tempary and still is :o

I will be ordering a new silver one soon, and the engine is cleaner than in that pic too :)

lol that is way too much mate, and I dont think thats the right one either.

hold on ill find it :)

found it on www.knfilters.co.uk

this is the one you want.

According to the guide that's the right one on ebay, thought it seemed a bit steep though! I think it might be confusing you 'coz of the picture, I think it's just a general picture, it says the 57-0242 is for the 1.4/1.6 with square airbox.

^^ EDIT, nice one matey! It lists Waxacar on the K&N site so I'll call in there and see how much they are.

sorry I'm chatting shite! its deffinately the 57-0356 you want!!

well post a pic of your engine but I'm pretty sure it must be!

57-0242 is the one you want, i've had both, the one mitch has got and this one, this one is better in my opinion

heres mine, dont know where the bonnet went lol, if mitch posts a pic of his then you can see

and how the f**k does that have a bigger surface area? my spaceship (and something else ;) ) is much bigger!!

Don't know where the bonnet got to - FPMSL!!

Thanks Vinny and mitch, £80-£90 seems to be about the going rate for them both. I'll go to waxacar soon armed with K&N 57i part numbers to see if they can do me a better deal.

anyways mate, save yourself the money and get a enclosed green dynatwist, best one for our 1.4's

well i'd get a dynatwist cause theres prob more of a performance bennefit from it over the open 57i kits

I thought they were more expensive, any links mate? This is another good possibility.

yeah thats the one mate, dont buy the k&n and get one of these, the k&n is open so will suck in hot air, where as the dyna twist is enclosed and better

OK, thanks alot for your help mate and mitch aswel. Like I said I'll go to the place near me and see what sort of prices they can do me. Does £150-ish sound about right for the Green Dynatwist?
