unless u spend a bit more imo u could end up losing power with an induction kit

the likes of viper of cma WILL give u gains but k&n will give u mostly noise

eg. a mate of mine had a k&n on his ka and got it rolling roaded and with the IK on the bhp level came out at 5bhp under standard performace - did the RR again without it and it came out 3 above!

so if u want to keep performance spend the cash - if u just want the noise go for a cheapy

are there any induction kits u can recommend then dont matter bout price.....only the kits where i will gain power????

cheers

you wont gain very much on the 1.2 engine, itll mainly be just for noise, as theres not much power to lose anyway

What about on a VTS?

Im thinking about an ITG panel filter but could be tempted to go for a decent enclosed induction kit.

I dont like noise. I just like a bit of extra oomph.

I had a piper cross cone filter with a k-tec relocation pipe on my 1.2 16v up until about a year ago then i sold it onto a lad on here because it made my car run quite lean and it was cutting out easily when pulling away from lights at low revs etc. I then got a K&N panel filter and put it into the standard airbox i then put my own cold air feed onto the standard airbox by removing the piece of plastic behind the grille then replacing that with a piece of heavy rubber gasket with a hole cut in it for the cold air feed to go through, the cold air feed now sits directly behind the grille. The car now runs far better than it did, it now pulls a little harder through the small rev range the 1.2 16v has.

Excuse the lengthy post but TBH an open filter on N/A engines doesnt really do much but make noise.....if you want noise get an exhaust. But for a slight gain in performance go for a panel filter.

Have a look on http://www.motorsportworld.co.ukwww.motorsportworld.co.uk for parts. Youll find that 99% of the time theyll be the cheapest also.

Cheers, Alan.

IIRC the piper cross viper gets 8-10bhp on VTS engine mate?
