All down to preference mate. A Hill Power kit will cost about £250 and I don't think that includes the Bend which would be advised, maybe even required. The BMC is about £160 I believe and again would probably require a silicone hose. Then there is the ITG Maxogen or the PiperX Viper, all much the same as before and muchos dineros £200+.
I have a standard box with PiperX panel, 70mm air feed running to the wheel arch and a silicone inlet elbow. Total cost £40. I did get a couple of the bits cheap/free but it should cost no more than £60 and a bit of time.
I can't see a Viper etc doing the job any better.
I even asked Andy at GDI wether a sealed IK would be better and the answer he gave was that my current setup would be more than adequate.
Good value as well and satisfying knowing you have done it yourself.

tomehb may be asking how much better than OE are these kits. Are they really worth bothering with?

I recall someone looking at my 172 at saying it was the best setup he had ever come across.

With you car in its current form the setup you have was ok, if you were going for more power at a later date... an better system would be aventagous. (sp)

I probably worded that my statement rather badly. I was meant to say that for a fairly standard car like mine, the standard box would be more than adequate.

So is the hill power ik a closed setup or is it open with a cold feed going onto the filter if it's the latter of the two would you not get as much out of it as a closed ik(a cracking sound though I bet!)

I'm still toying with the idea of putting one on(I have a itg panel in and pulled out the air feed pipe for the sound;) I must say I do like the look of the hill power ik alot
