Induction

  Clio mk1 rally :P
hello all
ok i have searched this but could not find what i was looking for.
basically. i was wandering if anyone has fitted a universal cone airfilter to their 1.2 clio mk1.
i have a D engine. and i couldnt afford the K&N induction kit..

what i need to know is what do i do with the breather pipe because there is no hole in the cone filter. and if this will make any difference to car at all.
and if any one has do the have pics??

thanks :p

try and find a smaller breather filter and put it on the end of the pipe,

pipercross make pretty smart little ones,

an open air filter will do nothing but suck in warm air from the bay and make alot of noise though imo

but i'm guessing you wanted the noise!

well dont mind the noise lol.. wouldnt mind it a bit louder... anyway i can stop it sucking in too much hot air? i will put a cold air feed on

well i was bored so i tried this.
if i dont like it or makes the car crappier i will remove

To be honest, it's not going to effect your engine much really, either way.

If you want it just for the noise, then fair enough.

You can pick up a breather filter on eBay for a few quid too.

um havent you just stuck the air filter on the end of the cold air feed to the original air filter? you now have two air filters do you not?

im prett sure the air filter is in the bit right at the top of the picture in the plastic housing

Yeah, he could remove the standard cylindrical filter now, surely?

I'm pretty sure it twists and comes off the back, with the filter inside.

No he s just left the airbox in place , there s a u shaped pipe not on . The silicon hose is straight onto tb !

yeah i left the old box in place so i can easily put it back to standard.
would i need a CAF to the filter?

show us a picture of the front of the car, it all depends on the amount of air you can get in through the front grille

errrr

yeah you're not really getting much cold stuff in there,

try some ducting down to the lower grille
