Got my infinity 6x9s in a stealth shelf installed today and they sound great a massive improvment against the standard speakers and all running off the headunit. really impressed with them especially with all the negative opinions on this forum about 6x9s.
The air the sub moves will push the cones of the 6x9s out and create distortion. The treble will still be mostly ok but the bass will be terrible. Also they will interfere with the sub and actually take away some of the effect.
You can combat that by buildingboxes underneath the 6x9s. If you do that, make sure that they have fairly large boxes as they are designed to be used with infinite baffles.
yeh i guess...well i doubt ill be getting a sub anyways as i think the sound is brilliant as it is and cant really justify more £££ on it. Rather spend it on exterior mods anyways
I have infinity kappa 6x9s in mine 2..... Had them since end of last yr....am bored of them now, thinkin of gettin some basssssss and removing the 6x9s
yeah i dont think these are the halford ones...theyre rated as 100watss rms so i thnk theyre the model up ..i got mine for £70 off a guy on here...well chuffed
I now know what everyone is going on about with the whole sub and 6x9s thing now. My mate had just 6x9s in his punto, then i helped him put a sub in and the bass is all distorted now. It sounds horrible. Hes gonna ditch the 6x9s!
glad to see you are impressed with them mate i told you they were good. and i have a 12 inch sub in the boot of my motor for ages and the 6*9s were still pumping hard and sounded fine. with them badlads on there own it sounds like you have a sub in your boot already!!!!
