***INFO REQUIRED ABOUT 1.6 16V MK2***

economy - should be around 35-40 mpg

insurance - similar to a 1.8 16v i think (couple of groups less, but not many)

Jay one more thread which has little stars and capital letters and youre getting a mighty slap.

Get a better car than a 1.6 Clio, theres more focused machines about(sorry).

Jay get the 1.4 16v, its only 10bhp down on the 1.6 and a huge amount cheaper to insure.

f**k u bout the stars and caps rob

i cant afford better than a 1.6-how many times do i have to tell u!

i want the rxe which comes in a 1.6 engine. i want the toys as well as power

Jay

wanting a new project does not come into it as am on a tight budget and want power, toys, mods

u mite want a scarf too-wud strangely suit u

Jay

The pug costs as little as a 2k. You could get the GTI leather interior, lightweight wheels and upgrade the brakes..not tempted? Theyre superb cars..just dont crash..

Jay be sensbile man... Why waste your money on a dog slow 1.6... Stick with the 1.2 for a while and wait until you can afford to insure and purchase a decent car... Or you could do what I have done and sourced a cheap reliable car that gets me from A-B (almost quickly). I have loads of cash spare as the car is cheaper, it has never gone wrong but if it did I have cash to fix it!

Now Im buying a house, getting onto the ladder and then in a few years I will get a real car, not a silly modded clio... (no offense to anyone)

Rob, for once I agree with you! A 106, cheap, nippy, reliable! What more do you want!

You cant have your cake and eat it remember... We are talking about on a budget. Unless you have loads of cash then you will never get the best the world has to offer! :)

clio isnt that bad-does the pug have airbags etc etc-basics

also i looked on carsource and pug rallye is R plate 5k roughly-who sed cheap?

wots more is it reliable?

Jay
