Inlet manifold - South Wales

  Megane 225+
Looking for inlet manifold porting & polishing, based in S. Wales - m4 corridor

Anyone know of someone with experience. (deffo no DIY)

I offer exchange manifolds and outright sales.

Certainly no DIY as i am a flow technician by trade.

Interesting...I could well be interested in this. So you would send me a pre modded part, I would fit it, and send you my "old" one? How much would this skin me? I would assume from a warranty/insurance point of view it's a non-issue as nobody would be able to tell (and you aren't fitting non standard parts anyway)?

  SLK 350
Costs about £180 from BenR.

As for insurance it is indeed hard to tell as unless they take it apart then its invisible, however if they find it your claim will likely be void, as it is a modification.

  Audi A6 (S3 on order)
Correct. Externally, the two manifolds would appear the same.

Best to call or email Ben for latest pricing.

172 mk1 is different due to cable throttle and Mk2 172 is different to 182 due to an extra plenium breather and bolt spacing. Be warned.

I have all but 182 ones in stock at the moment.

I supply ready modified one, and you send back yours, you are correct.

Price is £160, can also supply new gaskets if required.

Is it OK to run a ported manifold without remapping (i.e. is the leaner air to fuel ratio OK?)

i'd say the difference would be within the operating limits of the managment system, although personally i would do this sort of mod in conjunction with other mods e.g. headwork and cams, in which case you would need a remap.

my business, Advanced Powertrain Developments is based in Swansea (Ystradgynlais). I can fit a modified manifold if Ben were to supply one. I can even modify yours, but Ben has them off the shelf....

stan* - how much to fit - shall be getting mine next week - live in cardiff.
Do you know anyone around here that does metal polishing?

Sorry to hijack the thread.

is this a mod that will provide a noticable power increase when driving the car?

Quite interested as to what this actually does, and if its okay to do with just an induction kit and exhaust fitted, cams will have to wait im afraid!

This, IMO is the single best gaining mod you can make to a stock type car.

Ideally you want a remap as this can eseentially add 30-40% extra ontop of the initial gain, aswell as being safer.

If you plan on not having any remap, then modification of the lower half of the manifold is my preference.

im very interested, but whats the cost of a remap? the cheapest route to start with, i can get kent cams thro work for £90 each + VAT, was considering this as its supposed to add 16bhp according to their tech dept.

I cant afford everyhing in one thats why id like to start with one of these manifiolds, any advise BenR??

Dont bother with kents, fot £90 they will be regrinds unless they are feeling extroadinarily generous. Reginds are horrible for our cars, tap to buggery and generate some rather nasty harmonics and snap acceleration rates (of the valve, not car), and it certainly wont be 16bhp gain.

LIke i said, the manifold is the single best mod you can make to a standard type car. If you cant afford a remap, have just the lower part of the manifold modified, then have the upper aprt done when you can afford a remap.

Just need to clarify
So i'll b ok to have the manifold done with no ECU mod?
(already running viper & lonflife cat back)

Ideal i'd like the ECU mod after my summer hols
