Inner tie rod removal

I've had a dig around the forum and various other places about this and to save a lot of trouble and no doubt swearing I'm going to try using a crowfoot spanner head. All I need to know for certain is the size I'd need. I'm pretty certain it's a 32mm I need but just need someone in the know to confirm so I get the correct one.

you'll have to slim it down to fit, i'm heading into the workshop tonight (early start!) so will confirm size later

32mm
did mine tonight
even got the proper tool that slides over the whole tie rod so you can use a ratchet easy

Cheers Fred and yeahhh I noticed in one of your replies explaining that it'd need slimming down as the flats on the nut are slim.

Cheers mate. Do you mean that black tube thing? Was looking at them but could only find places in the states that stock them and were £70+.

and its one size fits all not like the ones on the net
inside its got rollers which close up when it turns to grip the tie rod

Lol I'm not gonna pay more. I have a bench grinder and could slim one down easy.

Just thought you might wanna make some money back since you'll probably not need it again.

I just used a cheap 32mm spanner and slimmed it down with an angle grinder, anyone local is more than welcome to borrow it.

The proper tool is probably a better option though as you can torque it to the correct setting when you fit a new track rod
