Inner track rod end

Hi, I have a fair amount of play in my front nearside wheel, so changed the track rod end today, only to realise that the track rod is loose at the steering rack end :(

Does anybody know roughly how much it will cost at a garage to change the inner bush/joint?

With genuine parts I bet you'll be looking around £80 - £120 per side
if you have a few tools you could buy them from gsf and do them yourself, it took me bout an hour and half to do both on the drive

How did you get to the inside part though as it's all under the engine!

Turn the wheel to full lock and you can just get to the track arm to undo it, it's a bit of a pig but not impossible, I used a good pair of mole grips but you could grind a 32mm spanner to fit if you prefer

tw*t of a job (passenger side isn't too bad to do, drivers side is a right mare!)

including track rod end (no point reusing the old one) i charge £160 inc vat for the passenger side, depending on how long it takes if your lucky it'll be the same price for the drivers side, if its seized then it'll be nearer £200

Mine were a git to do as both were on bloody tight. As long as you have the tools, your good at swearing and don't mind cut hands then do it yourself.

Update on this- turns out it was a snapped spring on the passengers side and track rod end on the drivers side.
