Car  Less
After almost selling the car this week, I have ultimately decided that I'm keeping ol' RB for the forseeable future :)

Now, as I'm keeping her and she needs no ££ spending until May of next year (service/MOT time) I've decided I'm going to spend a bit on mods.

Car already has;
Yozza exhaust,
ITG panel filter,
Lowered on Sportlines,
Brembo max HC discs,
Mintex pads all round,
Goodridge braided lines all round

My 'ideas' are as follows;

RS Tuner - what gains do these really give??
Suspension - I will be tracking the car for the second time at Trax this year - are coilovers OTT for an occasional track blast?
Wheels - have thought about some lightweight 16" alloys, will this really make much of a difference over the OE wheels?

Pound for pound what would you do? Ideas and suggestions welcome!

Seats. Once you change to decent seats, the standard will seem like a park bench!!

Would Recaro's be a decent upgrade or we talking serious buckets here?

I don't want anything too impractical so would need to retain slide/tilt functions.

And If you're only doing 2 track days per year and aren't really worried about how the car looks, I can't see the point in buying 'budget' coilovers when the Eibach springs are superb for day to day.

Excellent, thanks lads - I will add a pair of Recaro Trendlines to my shopping list then.

been looking on jms wesite and like the sound of the group n remap but they remove the acoustic valve and save your origional map which would be a must for me not sure if this is an option with an rs tuner, but only heard good things about them and they make the car smoother thru the revs and increase the rev range dont think the gains r much tbh, again from reading testimonials on thier website from satisfied customers.

Trendlines are a step in the right direction, but sit a bit high for me (And i'm only 5'10'')

This is me:

You need to spray that front diamond too ;)

On a side note, I have some Trendlines and although I got them for under £600 I am not sure they are suitable for everyone and if you want an honest opinion I will let you know what I think.

Please....

I think i'm the only one on here that doesn't like them!

you're not alone Dan, I think they're pretty crap seats. Much better out there for less money.

granted though, they do look good.

It's not that I don't like them, they are very nice. However for the extortionate price you generally end up paying they do not do a great job. I think if you really want to improve the 1*2 you need to get a seat which positions itself alot lower and some more support. I am happy with mine due to the price I got them but other than that I am hardly blown away. The standard seats offer the same support and just as comfy but do not look anywhere near as good.

Word for word, thats EXACTLY how I feel about them!

Da, take note!!

Haha, noted! ;)

I do like the OE look of them but doubt I could justify the costs when compared to equal/better bucket seats!

I agreem look good, offer the same support as standard for triple the price nearly=NO TAH!!

I think matched inlets and RSTuner would be a good start.

Maybe coilovers, something like vmaxx, or the ktec kit if your only doing the occasional track day.

Those seats you posted dan, are they revolutions??

matched upper and lower inlets,+8bhp:D

rs tuner between 8-12 bhp supposedly

20bhp from matched inlets and rstuner. :nono:

Bit much really, i gained about 8bhp for both.

RS Tuners - let me get this right, I buy it for circa £170 (exchange rate dependant) then I 'remap' my car and once done I can sell it on for around £100 on here...?

Or am I missing something?

never had it done mate just what the different websites claim they have had:approve:

Cool cheers Ben :)

K-Tec have a decent offer on at present -

Cat Cam (428) Fast Road Camshafts, Remap, Matched Inlets fitted with cambelt service all in for around £1500. What gains should I expect from this?

@ £400 + each?

Ben - would be cool if I could break the 200bhp mark with that work, really need to get the car RR'd!

looked heavily into this daz not much u can do without spending serious ££££, itb's, turbos ect. but matched inlets and rs tuner is the way i am going eventually:D when i get more ncb lol

Matched inlets wont offer much though as I understand things as I already have RS inlets being a 182.

I might get an RS Tuner and go from there.

ITB's and turbos aren't an option at the moment really.

yes youre right u have rs inlets its me that dont lol

Dont think you will crack 200bhp without ITB's etc.

You will be looking at 180-190bhp maybe? Depends what you have now i suppose.

Yeah really need to get it RR'd then I know what I'm working with. Might even get it done at Trax next month, was going to do it at FCS but the queue was ridiculous!
