Installing Airbag Control Unit

Ok, so i've finally got an airbag control unit on the way from another member on these forums (cheers mate!).

I want to know if it's safe to install this myself, and if so, exactly how...

Or is my best bet to take it to my local garage to try and avoid the bags going off?

is it just not a case of switching the units? just unplug the battery for a few minutes beforehand just to be on the safe side

says it has to go to renault to be programed to your car unless it is a straight swap?

I've put the unit in and it said "Airbag off". So that tells me it is working possibly, as it is detecting the passenger airbags are off. I turned them on. Now, the airbag and service light are still on but it seems this is just a common problem anyway.

Maybe need a rest doing now that the ACU is in there??
