installing an aftermarket headunit

ive got an alpine iva-d106r dvd unit that ive had in all my cars and im looking to put it in the 172

im fully aware of losing the steering wheel controls but that doesnt bother me

im just wondering, if i fit it, will i lose the climate control etc?

i doubt it, but its always worth an ask

i will be running the ipod cable through and into the glovebox, is this easy enough to remove?

my expertise has mainly been astras and a supra lol, so forgive the questions.

It will still work fine. Glove box is easy enough to take out.

climate control etc will be fine (including the clock and temperature display). I took the dash of to route my cable (I drilled a hole in the side of the glovebox), but its also possible to run it via a panel at the back of the glovebox if your cable is long enougth.

I run my iPod cable into the glove box, i just took the glove box light out and ran it through there, works pretty well i think
