Installing new speaker wire.

  The Jinx

How much of an arse is it in the valver, and does anyone have any guidelines/tips?

The old ones have been chopped at the rear (presumably for new speakers) but the old speakers have been put back and not properly connected.

Thought Id use the oportunity to fit all new stuff.

Can anyone also recommend a guage/brand etc. Im not building some massive install, but just a few quality speakers.

Where u based ? I could do it for ya !! I had the same problem !! The easiest place to run them is down the lefthand side underneath the plastic bit !! This just pulls out !! Give it a tug and the poppers will undo then you can run it along then underneath the rear seats into the boot and hey presto !!

Absolutely any cable really !! You can buy the most expensive and thickest cable going but it wont change anything TBH !! Have a look at the thickness of the wires coming from the HU and try to match this !! Anything thicker is a waste !!

craig, i take it youve never listened to a demo of the monster cables and other audio cabling you can buy then?

anyone who has heard a comparison, and says theres no difference must be deaf :p

I just used the oxygen free stuff form halfords, the actual cable aint much thicker, but it has a thicker plastic coating wich helps interference apparently, plus it looks a cool shade of blue!!

Im sorry but hes taking the sound straight from the HU not from an amp !! There is no need for monster cable !! Yeah by all means by good quality stuff with good sheathing but there is no need for monster cable !

Yep. Not putting any amps in. I like my music to be all quality and not loud enough to warrant amps.

Hence the Nakamichi CD-35z. Although Id love the CD-400. Or even one of those 6-disc in-dash jobbies.

Cables do make a difference

my suggestion is 2 spend as much as u can afford on it , some half decent cable wont cost u a fortune
