insurance and motorbikes

perhaps a stupid question, but you know how you acn drive other cars 3rd party if your car has fully comp insurance? would you be able to drive a motorbike/moped 3rd party on that insurance?

No motorbike insurance is separate. You would need another policy for your bike. If you ride on you car policy and get stopped by the police you will get stuck on for riding without insurance. 6 points £200 fine.... Been riding 9 yrs so trust me!! Also your car no claims won't count on a bike policy...

that's all i wanted to know, just looking at getting a bike and seeing if it was financially feasible for me to do so

cheers phantom!

They sometimes stipulate that "other car" cannot belong to you.

My insurance is fully comp on any other car as long as I do not own it.

makes sense that though, anyone could just buy a banger and get insurance for about 1k at 18, then drive a beamer that their stupidly rich dad bought them whilst still getting ncb

The beamer would also need its own insurance though, you're only insured on other cars third party if the other car already has insurance.
