what is the significance of the letter after the number and is it better to have a higher or lower letter?

Better to have a higer letter I think

Related to the safety of the car to resist being stolen the Clio are quite good with there locking door and the imobiliser decient.

Apparently it dont work in an ABC way...

E – Exceeds security requirements and group rating has been reduced as a result
A – Acceptable, meets security requirements
D – Does not meet security requirements and group rating has been increased as a result
P – Provisional rating where further information is required before a firm rating can be allocated
U – Unacceptable, the level of security is not considered sufficient for the model concerned

Now my 306 Rallye was a 16D as they had no alarm or deadlocks compared to the GTi-6 which is 16A, but why are the Clios class D?!

my fiesta Zetec S was 8E..... cos of immobilser, alarm and deadlocks and sheilded locks etc.

my dynamique is 3E. i think higher theinsurance group the harder it is to get a E rating. I mean an escort cossie in group 20 would never get an E even if it had state of the art security for its time
