Shhh
Priviledge / Admiral etc
Spoke to them about the optional extras on the car. The car is a Racing Blue 182 with cup packs, and white stripes...it dont look like a normal 182 as the colour and the stripes make it look nuts..
Therefore i need to ensure that i am fully insured and that there will be come backs incase of a Total Loss situation on the car. Cant afford to lose £9k in a car.
Asked them what they class as a modification and that these were fitted from build standard.
Then stated that if i went out and bought a 1990 ford escort and insured it, i would not know what optional extras were purchased at the time of build, so therefore i cant declare them on the insurance quote.
I then said that as i know about the car, i know that the car is slightly different than a normal 182, but the mods are not performance changing. I then said that if i bought the car in 2 years time from someone, i would not know what optional extras the car had.
I could then come back with the statement that the car is how i bought it from Renault, but then if i do have a total loss im replaced with a standard 182 not the 182 with cup options.
Seems we have a problem here, is there any insurance in 'the know' people that can advise on this and what i should do. Only other thing i can think of is to send a picture of the car to the insurance company for it to be kept on file as a reference, but i guess its all electronic.
