Insurance Help Please

Car  FF cupped Arctic 182
Just wondered if anyone knows the answer :

If you don't have your own insurance (ie you're a named driver) but you have 9+ years no claims, how long before you start losing your no claims, and do you lose them all ?

I ask because my Other half wants to get his car back on the road but has been on my insurance as a named driver for the last 2 1/2 years and hasn't had his own insurance policy for 2 1/2 years....

Any ideas folks?

It will depend on your particular insurance company. Some honour their no claims for longer than others.

Often its two years.

However manay policies now will grant you the equivalent if you can prove you've been driving other cars on in business insurance.
