Right, i'm not suggesting you lye to the insurance companies, as some people on here are whiter than white and think this is morally wrong! But, you are gunna need to try and "flex" your policy. Dont say that you work in a busy pub (if u do), they then assume you're parking in an unsafe and dark alley. Put your Mum and any other "clean" driver you can think of. Another possibility is saying you only drive very low miles annually and that you dont use it for business purposes. Honestly mate, its worth savin up for.

or go to norwich union online and lie about your ncd (they never checked mine lol)

and when you crash your policy is void!

Have a shop around mate, but dont pay silly prices for insurance, its just not worth it!

How would it be void?? Its not your problem they don't check ;)

They definitely will check when you claim though. Providing false information will invalidate the policy.

Dont lie about your policy thats just silly if you wish to make a claim you will have no chance as they have to check every detail before they pay out. Its the law

Id wait to be honest your talking at least 2k on a 172 to be honest. I picked my cup up 2 weeks ago and im loving it.

I got 2 years no claims and jus turned 21 it costs me 822 (directline) full comp of course.

You would be ok saying.... you do less than 6k a year and adjusting the excess to lower your premium but dont lie about anything else as it really aint worth it.

You do sign/agree to a contract though, which states all information you have provided is correct to your knowledge and if any information is fruadulant the policy could be cancelled or invalidated at their discretion!

That is most likely correct tho as with most insurance companies. Norwich Union are useless ***ts tho. Anyway the most sensible option I can give for the topic would be to keep searching around for a cheap price - maybe try confused.com or try and wait a few years when you gain more ncd and the insurance comes alot cheaper

I'm 19 mate, 0NCD with my mum and dad as named drivers, and im paying £1300 with elephant :D couldnt beat that! thats on my 182 cup

Get your Ass on a Pass Plus course.. It will give you as much as 30% off at some insurers. But the course is not free and you will have to pay..

I was paying 870 @ 19 on a 172 with Renault Ins

  Valver

Its misrepresentation which they count as fraud, it should say on your paperwork that it is your responsiblity that all of the details should be true.

Why dont u wait until your 21 then insurance should be much cheaper

I'm an insurance broker. It makes no difference whether you're 19 or 21, its the same price if you're under 25. Also if you lied about your no claims and they never ask for proof, if you have a claim, they'll still cover you as the claims department have nothing to do with the no claims bonus side of things, they don't check it. Its customer services who are in charge of bonus and they have nothing to do with the claim. And considering Norwich Union claims is in Britain and their customer services is in India, it wont matter. Besides you can only fake 2 years no claims anyway, you're only 19, so you could've only held your licence for 2 years. And the max a pass plus course will discount you with any insurer is about 5%, they're not stupid, they know anyone can do a pass plus.

Why not say you're 65 instead? Their fault if they don't check :clown:

Perhaps you'd think twice about lieing if an un-insured driver crashed into you.

Made a difference to me being 21 stll didnt have a full 1yrs experiance then either. I was only insured on my clio 8 months before i changed to a C4 but when i turned 21 it knocked a few hundred off my C4 policy which is why i waited a few weeks on it.

If you're under 30 living on a city postcode your never going to see under £400-600 premium.

Eh? My insurance has been £400'ish for about 3 years now (currently 28) and that's been under Birmingham and Walsall postcodes.

best thing is to put on an older female with a clean record like your mum, as a named driver, then try joining an enthusiasts club that offers a discount that you can use with an insurer, then try booking a pass plus or an advanced drving course cos that will knock your insurance down to.

Thats why i said £400-£600, not under £400. I've found that the Birmingham postcode has been lowered as a risk area as well as london. Although, place in the northwest like bolton and Newcastle seem to have gone up. The madness of insurance.

I lived in central Manchester until recently the insurance at that location was a joke i was actually refused by many companies due to the location and because I could not park at my address.

Yay! Finally! Proof from the horse's mouth that the 21-year-old 'bracket' is nothing but a myth.

Car insurance - about as much fun as...:banghead:
