Insurance on a modified car

I thought I'd share this bit of info with you.

I'm currently trying to sort out insurance for my modified Mini, without giving my money to either HIC/Greenlight (Highway Insurance) or Flux.

I phoned Grahan Sykes 0845 1300 157 or www.graham-sykes.co.uk and have had my HIC quote slashed by over £100 !! now £378 have been quoted upto £700!!!

The policy will be with NIG who apparently specialise in LHD or Modified cars. The only downside is they dont do agreed value in the case of a claim.

Ouch , gave them a try and over £100 more expensive then HIC

Greenlight are even worse £230 more expensive :S

I was told I got a discount for being in an owners club and a discount for sole user of the car. I tried putting my mum on the policy and it went up £100!!

I've had the pleasure of cover through HIC under written by Highway, and I dont want the hassle ever again.
