Insurance: Possible uninsured 3rd party!

My Wife was involved in a minor accident 3 weeks ago so we informed her insurance company (Direct Line) about it. Shes just phoned up to see whats going on and theyve told her that his reg plate isnt coming up with any insurance details and theyve asked her to check the registration again - she is going to do this later today as she knows where the guy lives.

Question is - what happens if he isnt covered? She has got legal protection, but Ive got a feeling this one gonna run and run :(

  None

Sounds like a bad un. Ive heard horror stories about this sort of thing before. Be prepared for a long haul even if shes fully comp insurance companies drag their heels over this sort of thing.

  don't

what happened? , did she not get his details at the scene??

if ppl dont have insurance details at the scene or appear genuine id call the pigs straight away and demand that they take action or get some details and checks done

did she report the accident 2 the police, if not could get sticky

least u know where he lives so thats 1 gd thing but should#ve got some details

if u havent already contact police about it, say u had a crash and thought everythin was fine

or u could go 2 him and say pay up or i tell police everything as insurance company have confirmed ur not insured, should sh!t them up

She did get his reg plate and address / phone no, but not insurance. There was no need to call the police at the time as there was noone hurt.

After she double checks the reg plate and calls direct line again, then itll be time to call the police if they confirm that he has no insurance.
