Insurance Quotations

Sorry if this has been posted before but I need help with insurance.Ive got a 1.4RT mk1 and want to insure it when i have passed my test. Just wondered where some of you have your policies with as i have been quoted £1000 fully comp with Tesco but since then have got some renault alloys on it replacing the steel rims. Also getting a system in their soon and would like to know basically what sort of price people pay for their insurance with things like this.

Normally your ICE is covered upto £500 worth nways. the alloys should be no difference in premium if there is it should be pretty small.

£1000 is a good price fully comp with NCB and just passing

also try norwhich union, esp if u get pass plus!

Cheers, didnt know whether different wheels would make a difference as they are not TSW or any brand like that as they are just standard Renault alloys...do make the car look better (IMO)

Another question...sorry im new to all this, i have my rear window tinted, would i have to declare this???Insurance puzzles me

And yea if you fully comp u should declare all mods, depending on who your insure with depends on how strict they are i.e. putting ya premium up.

Thanks to all, would have introduced myself but couldnt find anywhere to lol.

Im from Cambridgeshire, im mostly on the website thats marked as my homepage, thought i should join up on here after finding a link on the revs website if i remember rightly. Helps if i know things about my car lol.

My cars pretty standard but its still my pride and joy...plus it only cost me £300 (cant say anything bad about it either apart from the new battery i had to get)

mine cost £1300 but that was with good miles on the c**k and full service history.

RTs dam good lil cars if u look after them. not bad on motorway/dual arriage way either i do atleast 350miles ish every 2 weeks.

mine was pretty standard upto couple weeks ago, but looks alot smarter on 15s and dropped 30/40 mm

was going to mod it but not too sure anymore. was going to get one of the K-Tec bodykits for it but now thinking of saving up for my second car.

would keep the Clio and mod it only it has about 120,000 ish miles on the clock, was able to buy it this cheap as my boyfriend had to buy another car whilst his was being fixed afer some idiots threw an alloy wheel out at him one night, wo he bought this from his mate and now i have it.!

Great little car and im keeping it spotless for when i can drive it!!

its currently got 14" alloys that i bought off ebay for £120 (must have annoyed someone as i bought them with 3seconds to go)

Some mofos threw a alloy wheels at him!?!? sorry but that made me laugh out loud. did some throw a wheel at him while he was in the car? or at his car when it was parked?

hhm... small engines with high milage dont mix, but i think u should be alright for now. but like u say if ur alread on the look out for another car then prob not worth the mods. but plenty of cheap mods u can do.

i.e. lower, colour code etc.

Yeah, late at night as he was driving on his way home some tw*ts threw it out with a lump of concrete inside, hit his car at 70mph and sent him spinning ended up doing approx £7000 damage and the police are so rubbish i gave the suspects names as i knew them and they found them guilty but as they are first time offenders they were let off and do not have to give my bf any money for what he lost.

basically if it was an old person driving or a motorcyclist they could have died but they still got let off and i now have to see them around where i live

If anyone lives in cambs then they might have heard about it .

Someone chucked the alloy when i was going 70mph! bit annoying but then i had the pleasure of the Clio. Gotta say what a nippy fun car it was for a 1.4litre.

£300 was a bargin for you Stacey when i had people offering over twice as much! lol. And now you getting a nice stereo... for free... the things i do for you! dont have any time to spend money on my car.
