Insurance quotes!!!

Yes another thread on inssurance. Apologies in advance.

Basically been looking at 182/172's and getting various quotes. Ive tried all the compare websites and also direct line and the cheapest I get is £620, which isnt too bad considering.

However, I just wanted to absolutely check and make sure Im not missing out on getting quotes off some good companies.

I tried Adrian Flux too but dont you have to be over 25???

my quote was around same as you for direct line was the cheapest that i found (churchil was same aswell), Adrian flux quoted me rather high, other cheap ones were greenlight and bell for me.

Brentacre are competitive too, especially if you plan to mod.

Also whilst Im on it, very off topic but with a 172 when would you expect belts to have been changed I thought it was when the car is either 5 years old or 70k mileage??

Admiral/Elephant are always cheapest for me. Your better off getting quotes direct instead of using comparison sites.

Greenlight are ~£200 cheaper for me (24, 3yrs no claims) than anyone else.

You need a minimum of 1yrs No Claims and the last I knew they didnt touch Cups due to no abs.

cheapest quote i could find at 19 for a 172 was £2200

Last I heard they stopped allowing new policies for modified vehicles about 6 years ago.

Brentacre were the best for me last year, but I suppose I'll be finding out again shortly whether that's still true.

i tried them last week, they all seem the same tbh, doesnt help me having no NCB and a cage :dapprove:

Bell insured my lightly modified 1.2 in Jan 09.

£620 is very good if your under 25.

Just been doing a few qoutes as you do and all my qoutes have come down by £100-£200 in 2010

she also has no testicles which also helps get a low quote.

i'm currenlty with bell, my cars lowere, with bigger wheels and a spoiler, but I WILL NOT be going with them again after the shambles last year. And the year before. they were the cheapest by along way like £200. on both occasions i had to get tapes pulled and speak to managers etc, because of their incompetant call centre staff.

Ive been told that brentachre lot are pretty good. and i'll try chris knott again were very helpful etc but they were miles from being the cheapest quote last year.
