Insurance/tax query

having recently bought my clio i have changed my policy over from my peugeot - my insurance company have just sent me the new forms through asking for the old insurance certificate to be sent back - before i send it back i could do with taxing my peugeot again as it runs out in a few weeks - as my peugeot insurance certificate is no longer valid would they be able to catch me out or could i get away with with using it to get tax and then sending it back straight away?

as long as the cert and tax disk have the same reg on youll be ok, oh and the cert is in date.

yeah, the cert is in date - just didnt know if they would be able to cross reference it on a database?

no mate, youll be fine.

MID is the database which holds all insurance details, they dont check it when you buy tax.
