Insurance, total waste of time effort & money tbh.

Perhaps a dumb question... but why are your company being a pain in the arse anyway?

If it's her fault you'll be claiming off her, not your, insurance, therefore you can just claim direct off her and just advise your company that you've been involved in an accident and are proceeding yourself?

Previous accidents I've known usually end up with the unlucky party doing all the hard work

All these injuries from something that:

Wasn't a head on (so no closing speed of the other car)
Impact into her rear, very little lateral impact
You've effectively t-boned her rear quarter
Overall, you've driven into a moveable object at significantly less than 30 mph

...and it's caused all these serious injuries?

Haha, not that I begrudge you but it smells like a cheeky P.I. claim to me.

I'm sorry for your accident, all sounds like a lot of a faff, but the serious injuries you claim to have suffered, whilst I'm not a doctor, smell a bit whiffy to me?

I hope you can see why I think this (presumably others do too).

I'n not offended in the slightest, I totally understand the point you're making however I'm not 'faking' probably a case of not explaining it very well. The 'faff' is all relating to my car being either repaired or written off, not the injuries.

I'm not 'seriously' injured as such, I've got whiplash and a back injury that needs physio. I'm 22, fairly active and healthy yet I can't really do much of the physical activity that I'd normally be doing because of the back injury. I've been examined by two doctors both who agree I've sustained whiplash and a back injury.
I honestly wish I was on the blag for a cheeky PI claim; it'd be a lot less pain and hassle. I'm off work, because I can't drive or sit down for long periods of time so I'm losing commission as I work in a sales role thats mainly commission based. I'm paying someone to ride my comp pony to keep her fit, because I'm not physically able to as its my lower back & hips that act as a 'shock absorber' when riding and I'm simply just not able to do it as well as the various other day to day things I can't do like drying my hair without assistance etc.
As I understand it PI claims are for the effects to your 'normal' life and injuries sustained, both of which I've suffered.

She was moving when I hit her, as she was coming across my path. I hit her hard enough to mount the opposite kerb and smash one of my wheels, pushing the tyre off the rim.

I'm not really looking to name and shame; its an internet based insurer though.

No idea Paul; they've finally assessed the car today but could be 48 hours before they decide what to do... great.

H, your back will get better hun. Just be patient!

Glad they've assessed the car. Insurance claims are never simple....just let them do all the faffing and don't stress about things you have no control over :)

Are you certain it is whiplash you have and not something else? I was under the impression that whiplash was caused from the neck movements that occur when you are hit from behind, not in front.

Hope it all gets sorted for you soon and you feel better!

Sorry to hear about your crash mate :(

I'd recommend calling Helphire ;) They sorted me out really quickly after my valver got mullered in November.
Hire car, lawyers, engineers reports the works. They do all the chasing & harrassing the 3rd party insurers and the longer they take to sort your claim, the more it costs them as Helphire charge them for all the running around they do for you

They took just under 7 weeks to fully sort my claim out

now for the 5th time Hayley what insurance companys are involved?

For the 2nd time; Its a web based company & until its all sorted I'm not really wanting to say,

The doctors have said its whiplash, I always thought it was from behind too, but apparently any impact causing spasm of the muscles etc is whiplash.

Gems; I'm going back to work Monday; can't take much more lol!

What have her ins company said, has she admitted all fault? If so stop fecking about with your company and get them to sort it all out, your people shouldn't have to lift a finger or be a £ out of pocket. All the crap about you being covered/not being covered in this instance wouldn't even come into it.

When I had a smash that wasn't my fault the woman who hit me's insurance company (Tesco) handled everything. I had a courtesy car the next morning, my car was written off and I kept the courtesy car for about 2 weeks while I found a new car.

They hadn't even contract her insurers to see if she was actually accepting fault up till yesterday as far as I'm aware. She kinda admitted fault at the scene "I'm sorry, I didnt see you" but later back tracked saying she wasnt sure whos fault it was. Really there isnt much dispute as she was ignorant of the fact it was my right of way to continue moving along the road.

I contacted my insurers the day of the accident (monday) with the details and assumed they'd sort it but they're useless.

You got her insurance details though at the time right? Don't wait for/let your insurer call them, do it yourself :) I called my insurer when it happened, then told them to do nothing until I said. I then called her insurer and they they did everything :)
