So my insurance is due in 3 days and i'm stuck on what to do.
I think i'm going to end up going with the dearer price in the end after all this but i thought i would ask and maybe the insurance people could stick their nose in.
My renewal is coming back at around £680, this is very similar to what i paid last year and i'm now an insurance group lower with my recent car change (or so i was told). I had a Megane 225 F1 and now have a Seat Cupra K1. I'm getting quotes in from other places such as Brentacre and they came similar. I also have an accident on file that is coming up to 5 years in the middle of May so would be off my file. When doing a quote on comparison sites such as Compare the Market quite a few are coming in at under £500, Esure is the best so far at £425 but that is without modifying or without my accident on file, with the accident it bumps most up to the £600s.
When calling up a couple of other specialist companies such as Greenlight i was told before i even got to the stage of a quote that they are really good prices and they wouldn't be able to offer anything near that which i do appreciate them telling me before hand and so on. Now i'm back at work and finding it hard to get time out to make calls back to them but do you think it is worth calling the companies back up and asking if it would come any cheaper without the accident on my file? I would have tried already but at the same time if they say they wouldn't get anywhere near that because of my age etc. it may not be worth it.
The Esure is a really good price, the specialists are quite a high price but it would mean no modifications for a year for the difference in price which is the sticking point.
Maybe @Neil@greenlight could give any indication?
