Insuring my Exhuast

Will my insurer be interested in the fact i have a Scorpion pipe and back box? It is also de-catted, is a mechanic likely to pick up on this in a service?

If you have a crash and youve not told them that you have mods, and especially if the crash is your fault theyll send someone out to look at the car. If they find that it is not as you told them, they will void the policy. They may payout to the person you hit, but theyll probably take you to court to get that back (not sure about this last bit)

As for a service and warranty work, if theres a fault and its because of the mods, then Renault will not cover the problem.

Hope this helps.

the mechanic will notice yeah, but this will only affect your insurance if you crash or the car is stolen and an insurance assessor is sent to evaluate the car. The mechanic will only note the zorst if the car has any warranty work done.

Yes that does help, do you think I can get hold of an exhuast to satisfy insurers and keep the back box of the exhuast, and how much will this cost. Again many thanks for the help.

even the scorpion back-box is a mod mate, so to satisfy insurance that zorst is standard it would all have to be put back to standard, not sure on cost but you should be able to get hold of one not too pricey. You thinking of swapping back to scorpion after insurance bloke has been??

Yeah, well my insurance is pending on whether the mechanic mentions anything to my old man about my scorpion. Then I can insure it. But no one from my insurance group is looking at the car, jus my dad likes to do things too legally. Also how do I get a picture of my motor on the formus like you have?

you need to become a member mate, fiver a year then get 2 stars and the ability to post pics up! ;) So mechanic bloke is checking car over for your dad to declare it mod-free so he can give you go ahead to insure it-right?

if youre planning to put the zorst back on once its insured as standard your lining yourself up for sh*t mate. If its stolen/crashed your ins company could use the zorst as a reason to void your policy! Dont think its worth the risk IMHO.

  don't

they wouldnt unless they found the car with the mods on

main thing is if there was a crash then they could try 2 say the insurance is void and then hed be f*cked

2 person asking about the exhaust, will ur insurance not let you do the exhaust mods then?

If it was stolen how would they know about the exhaust?
stolen...recovered...then written off due to damage. Assessor would be sent when/if it was recovered.
