Its the resister pack £90 from Renault for a new one.

Its easy to change its under the scuttle panel under the bonnet.

if you remove the plug from the blower under the scuttle panel you can put a link across the 2 outside pins of the plug and this runs the heaters flat out, this will then prove the resistor pack is the problem

ta cookie,

it worked straight away this mornin on the way to work tho, couldit be a wire lose or is it deffo the Resistor pack ?

Could you not whip it out and just check the connections maybe clean up any corrosion etc..?? or is that a waste of time.

Yep you cna do nd repiar them this way usualy but msot people would ruin them when trying to fix them so no point explaianing it.

ahh okay cool, might be worth trying anyway then just be careful and expect to probably spunk 80 quid or whatever for a new 1

  Monaco Ph2 172
Bizarre - my heater started playing up with the exact same symptoms earlier this week. It's very intermittent, but the fans are dead when the car is started but usually come on after 10-15 minutes.

Sounds like a fairly straightforward task to undertake myself, so thanks for the info guys. :)

  Clio 182 FF
Got the same problem, thanks guys for the above help and the picture where the scuttle panel is. superb help.

Nightmare, just fitted my new resister pack, cost £102 inc vat, blooming fans are still playing up.
I will have to book it in at renault just so that they can charge me £60 to tell me theres nothing wrong.

How much do you want for the fan??

I disassembled the lot and connected my fan directly to the battery and it did nothing, so I'm guessing its the fan thats knackered as I brought a new resistor pack and thats not made a difference
