Interior Fans - Ph1 172

When i start the car in the morning and turn the fans on, they stay on for 30secs or so then die a death!

Any idea's?

Motor may be on the way out.

remove the panel where the pollen filter is. The motor is in there (has a black and red wire going to it) need to see if there is any power getting there when the fan is on but not working.

Is the pollen filter at the scuttle panel?

Yea, drivers side, the small section comes off quite easy. All the gubbins for the fan etc is in there

If you need a new fan..... mine is sat in the garage doing nothing now

Not unheard of for the fan to be duff, i sold mine to a phase 1 owner.

When I took mine out there where some polystyrene balls.. 2 wasps... and plenty of dust!


Looks brand new now I have cleaned it up

No. Its at the bottom of the windscreen on the outside of the car. one plastic cover held in by a plastic split pin. the fn is held in by three 7mm or 8mm hex head screws.
