Interior Light Problem

I took out my courtesy interior light to see what bulb was in there and I now have a somewhat annoying problem...

When I set the light to turn on when the doors are open and off when the doors are closed the interior light is stuck on and wont turn off unless I turn it off manually.

I think its something to do with the way it switches and to be honest I can't see a solution to it so what would you recommend?

Fixed the problem although I now can't manually turn the light constantly on. I can only have it on automatic when the door opens and closes or turned off completely.

As daft as it sounds, have you put it in back to front?

Nope, its defiantly in the right way round... in fact it only works one way round.
