interior lighting stopped working??

  Ultra Red Clio 197
Hi,

Im just back from being away on hols and came home to find my car wouldnt start. anyway, checked the battery and it was dead, (odd as its only a new battery about 2months ago) anyway, got it jump started and its going fine now.. I figure there must be something small that has been draining the battery while I was away. However the interior lighting isnt working in the front and boot of the car. (Was all working fine before I went away) So I have changed all the bulbs and still its not working so thought it must be a fuse or something.

The problem is I dont have a clue about the fuses. I went to the manual, had a look and couldnt find the correct one for the interior lighting as listed in the book. Can anyone help me to locate it? and do you think this is the problem with the lights?

The second weird thing that Ive noticed is when all doors are shut and I flick the lighting switch on the ceiling back and fourth the red doors open light on the dash goes on and off causing me complete confusion.

Would appreciate it if anyone can help me.

Cheers
Ross ;)

First off, pull the fuse cover off which is located by the passenger door on the side of the dashboard.
There is a diagram to refer to on the plastic bit you pull off. Find out which fuse is your interior lights and simply get a new one.

Second thing could be the door light sensor thing, i had this problem with mine. it is located by the door sill towards the bottom. its got a little rubber cover on it.

cheers guys for your help.

Its very odd, but for some reason it has decided to work again!! Maybe it was something to do with the battery going flat and it just took a little longer for the power to get to the interior lights. Who knows, all I care about is thats its all working now!

Thanks
Ross ;)
