interior neon lights or LED

hi i am interested in getting some tubes for my silver 172, i wanna put them near the pedals for the driver n passenger, not at the back.
I want white or blue, what you think is good? also what is better? neon lights or led

anyone have pics or ideas on where i could purchase these from? i know they are cheap =D

also if u could name me the thing that flashes in tune with the base of the music! ty all

A lot of people dislike the idea of interior neons/LEDs so brace yourself lol

I have neons in my front footwells to "tie-in" the rest of the front with my install

LEDs give a more directional light so you need more of them to illuminate the area you fit them. A neon bar in each footwell will produce a nice glow

yeah i know but i dont care lol im young and i like loud music n my car is a beauty what colour you reckon btw? white or blue? and is a 6 inch enough to light up the footwell? or 10 inch better? i saw one on some website called www.neoquip.com or something for 10 pound each - they got aqua or white

plus i need the lights to go with my pioneer headunit its got a screen too which is a blue background

but my dials are orange lol

Go for blue, it hides some of the ugly parts down below the dash rather than the white showing them off.

Also blue is like a cool "mood light" lol

I think mine are either 10" or 12" bars - I'll look for you tomorrow (later today :clown

Thats exactly what i was planning to do =D can you tell me where you got yours with price please m8, im gonna buy them how do you install it? any loose wires? =/

My local ICE dealer fitted mine when I was having my first comps/sub & amp fitted
The neons cost me £40 fitted (with a switch to turn them on/off)

i got mine off ebay, £8 posted for 12" blue tubes. i wired it off the ciggarete lighter and hid all the wires below the ashtray, i also have the switch sittin in the ashtray too

i got my lights front halfords for a tenner each and fitted them myself with a switch and it took like 10mins. £40 quid alot of money to get them fitted ill taker a foto in a min when it gets dark

I wanted to get neons in my footwells but didn't want to wire it to the cigarette lighter. A friend wired his to his headlights in his yaris so when the headlights come on so do the neons, looks great

I used a pair of cold cathode tubes in my old car. you can get them for a couple of quid off ebay i think, do the exact same thing as neon tubes do.its just they are built for computers, all you have to do is chop the computer connectors off and wire it to a 12V supply like ur cigarette lighter or the interior light. look pretty good

Looks alright... I think white would look pretty cool... espically with the headlight wiring

When you have just chopped the ends off, do you just fix the ends on to the other end of the cig lighter?? any precautions to worry about??

The blue leds are in my car and the white are in the bf!

I think leds are better than neons. You dont need more leds to give the same glow as neons, infact need less because they are so much brighter, plus they last longer and some come with a reflector thing, so doesnt produce a direct light, but a glow instead.

Check out my footwells - they are just one led strip!

Mine are from www.shinyautos.com - they sell full interior upgrade kits as well, which includes the interior lights, footwells, number plate lights, boot lights, door handle leds - the lot. Also they will fit them too!

Also what colour is ya car? I have a blue car, so blue LEDs :rasp:

I brought blue leds from halfords for a tenner wired up through cigarette lighter but tucked neatly away under ashtray, very happy with them and have since done it for a friend. Had blue cause of nautical blue clio, just annoying now cause i want to change all the interior lights to blue aswell!! Halfords also sell music pulsey lights so u should be sorted there.

i just took the fuse panel off and collected them to a poser sorce in there and then to a switch in the dash and then its not in cigar lighter or on heasdlights... compleatly seperate... also bbbys stop you when your car is glowing blue lmao ...so you cant exactly turn headlights off when you see a police man can ya lmaooo...any ways looks good in some cars that was a 206 i donte that to .. my missus car
