Intermittent climate control....?

Hi peeps,

Since having my car back from another electrical fault I had a few days ago I've noticed my climate control unit is very intermittent......it used to be like that a few months ago but it sorted itself out, but now its doing the same again.

Example, I get in my car in the morning, drive to college with it working, leave it for a few hours, come back to it to go home and its not?? Then get back in it say an hour later and it is again The control unit is working, just the fans don't blow. Ive spent enough money on my bloody car this month so wanted to know if there was much I can do myself?

Is it the same as the Climate control fitted to 1*2's? If so could be the resistor pack which controls fan speed. Common snag.

Same set up then, if its set to that speed and the fans aint blowing then id say your resistor pack as had it.

Doesn't matter what speed I set it to, its just decides when when it wants to work and not. What would I need to do in the case of my resistor pack going?

The resistor pack controls fan speed, some either short on max speed some short with no speed. Yours may be on its last legs, id check the connection to the resistor pack if i were you. If its fucked you can either repair it if your good with a soldering iron or buy a 2nd hand one.

Mate you can get your resistor pack serviced by ChipGods - look it up on Ebay

I got mine done 2 months ago, half the price of a new one and they put their own warranty on it too!
Was like getting into a new car when I got it fixed lol
