My strero is playing up recently, it will just randomly go crackly in all modes (radio, cd, Aux in) If i turn the radio off and on again it will normally cure if fro another while?

Any ideas?

Its a Pioneer Deh-30MP btw!

crackling usually means several things, dodgy connections dodgy speakers, dodgy head unit etc. when its crackling and u go over a bump, does it stop crackling

no not reallt mate, i thought of this. It stops if you turn the H/U off for a few seconds and restart it. I reckon the Unit is fooked tbh! Its about 3 years old.

One possible cause is a faulty, (dry solder), connection that is affected by heat build up....So as the unit is switched off the joint cools allowing partial connection, as the joint heats back up, (due to high resistance within the joint), it again fails due to heat....

The location of this fault could be almost anywhere from the stock audio loom through to a speakers coil, you could run the unit till it happens again & check if it affects any particular speaker worse by adjusting the fader & balance, if it does simply disconnect it & try again....
